
This interactive (virtual) workshop has been designed for social workers and therapists who wish to build or deepen their understanding of trauma. Participants will explore foundational concepts of trauma, including clinical considerations. The presenter will spend time discussing the causes of trauma, the concept of the “trauma zone”, and the wide-ranging impact of trauma on individuals, couples, families and communities. The workshop will also cover appropriate treatments for trauma, as well as the distinctions between trauma care and trauma-informed care. In addition, we will examine the roles of various professionals in trauma treatment and engage in critical discussion around age and race-based trauma.

A respected national, regional, and local presenter, Sharon White has vast experience designing and delivering engaging trainings on mental health, trauma, conflict resolution, aging, diversity, depression, and professional self-care. Known for an energetic and thoughtful style, Sharon White is dedicated to fostering whole-person wellness and workforce development through impactful learning experiences. She has Co-Founded and facilitated task forces for Delaware County specializing in aging, behavioral health and hoarding, and as well as having been a trainer in crisis intervention for law enforcement.
